FOREWORD BY:
At last the Christians have a magazine they can call their own, LET'S PRAISE.
It is with great excitement to welcome the birth of this monthly magazine of the Christians, by the Christians and for the Christians.
LET'S PRAISE is a magazine we as
Christians should pride and boast to
have. At last a magazine that would cater
for all our needs is here. I take my hat off for
its publisher Ponko Ka Masiba for unleashing
this vehicle for us.
During these economic hard times, Christians
should find solace in reading LET'S PRAISE.
All the churches would be catered for in this
magazine and we should all embrace this
opportunity and exploit it to the fullest. I repeat
this initiative is long over due. Ponko has
assured me that LET'S PRAISE is a magazine
of the Christians, for the Christians and by the
Christians and I have no reasons to second
guess that. His record on how he
has been handling our church news
in his column Corner of Faith in
Sunday Sun speaks volumes.
LET'S PRAISE, I hope, would also make us Christians to consciously look at ourselves and ponder how we build and nourish our values as Christians. I hope it would assist us in grappling with issues that confronted us in our communities. Issues of racism, xenophobia, HIV/ Aids, unemployment, crime, class and inequality have found their way in our churches as well. What does the church say to these? How do we address these? Do we ignore them as raindrops, hoping that they would simply disappear? No they won't disappear. These are issues that Christians should address with humility.
The time has come for all the churches to find a common ground and have their voices heard. I hope LET'S PRAISE would assist us in this regard. Let the whole house catch a fire! Enjoy the read.
Yours in Christ
